"Twelve outrageous guests. Four scandalous requests. And one lone bellhop, in his first day on the job, who's in for the wildest New year's Eve of his life."

On New Year's Eve at the Mon Signor hotel in Los Angeles, valet Ted (Tim Roth) is all alone. Suddenly he gets involved in four strange situations. First, he enters a room where a group of witches want to perform a ritual, but they are missing sperm. Ted then finds himself in a room where an armed man has tied his wife to the bed. Then a mobster wants Ted to take care of his annoying kids while he and his wife are at a party, and finally, Hollywood star Chester Rush wants to use the hotel clerk for a rather strange game.

An anthology film set in a hotel. The lively and cheerful centerpiece of four bizarre episodes is piccolo Tim Roth in a very present role. A good actor, who indulges in a form of overacting in this film that is sometimes well placed and produces a hearty laugh, but who also regularly balances on the border of irritation. His exaggerated facial expression and exaggerated gestures cause so much nervousness and unrest at times that his performance distracts too much from the story. Tim doesn't control his limits. At those moments Tim is no longer fun and I would have liked to give Tim a corrective tap.

"Four friends, telling four stories, making one movie". That is the motto of the film. Four friends Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez independently direct four stories. The starting situation is always very nice. Tim Roth ends up in various hotel rooms in the most strange situations and has to get out of it.

Not every story is equally successful. I've already talked about the moments of irritation that Tim Roth generates. In addition, the stories differ qualitatively. Actually, the only really successful segment is that of Robert Rodriguez. “The Misbehavers” is a hilarious movie with good acting in a very successful bizarre mis-en-scene. I had to laugh heartily about it.

With some goodwill you could still qualify Tarantino's contribution entitled "The Man from Hollywood" as quite successful. The goodwill is created by the pleasant dialogues and excellent interactions between the characters. The other two episodes don't boast many special ingredients and are just below par.

Four Rooms is a mediocre work.

I agree with the rest of the negative comments, I think everything has already been said.
