Forget Paris plot
To fulfill the last wishes of his war veteran father, Mickey Gordon travels to Normandy to bury him. Mickey is a professional basketball referee and avid bachelor. When disembarking at the airport, he learns that the coffin has been lost. The quest takes a long time. Ellen, a beautiful American in charge of the airport's public relations, feels sorry for Mickey. She suggests he take a drive through Paris and they fall head over heels in love. They experience a crazy idyll between Montmartre and the Seine. When his problems are solved, Mickey leaves for Santa Monica. Ellen follows him shortly afterwards and they get married. Then the problems begin.
