Flirt plot

Lex (Egbert Jan Weeber) is a young actor who is in love with Ankie. But he has one problem: he has more girlfriends. Platonic relations are those, with 'at most a little messing around above the belt'. But Lex doesn't think that's strange. Moreover, spiritual fidelity is much more important... That is not acceptable to the rest of the world. Certainly not with Kim. This documentary filmmaker has just kicked her boyfriend out because he can't keep his hands off other ladies. That's how she came up with the idea for a documentary about cheating. Lex seems like the ideal protagonist.

Annoying film about a subject that we have seen many times in a film and often even better.

The mix between drama and humor is not well distributed. Moments seem to fall from the sky and a line is not really in it. Most scenes seem to be all unrelated. Drama doesn't work more often than it does and the same goes for humor. In the beginning there are still one or two nice moments, but then it quickly turns into a too long and somewhat boring film that is not really interesting anywhere. Acting was nothing to write home about either. Cringe-inducing at times. Only Guzman still knows how to bake something. The music was very nice.

1.5*

The fact that Eddy Terstall co-wrote the screenplay raised my expectations. But that is very disappointing this time. It is a film without much story about the somewhat unworldly way in which losers deal with love - and especially sex.

I am quite fond of Dutch films, which are usually no worse than many foreign productions. But this movie never captivated me. Besides the weak and messy story, the mediocre acting by Egbert Jan Weeber and Rifka Lodeizen doesn't make it any better.

I thought it was a fun movie. It highlights various sides of the phenomenon of "monogamy" and you see how different people deal with it in different ways. It's all poured into a kind of "sex and the city" like sauce and you have to love that. I have to say that I found this surprising for a Dutch film.

It is a light and easy look away. This is mainly because the whole looks quite colorful and never really goes into depth. So don't expect high-quality acting or super strong dialogues. It's not all bad, but it fits a movie like this one. One of my favorite Dutch actresses is Rifka Lodeizen. I also thought she was great in this movie. And how nice to run into Guzman in a movie. I had never seen him act but he certainly does that without merit.

I thought the super slimy ending in the theater when Lodeizen's character presents her film was a bit of a shame. It was a bit too sweet for me. But it is in nice contrast with the fact that he eventually goes wrong again with the filmmaker.
