Familieweekend plot

When the wealthy widower Pieter Severijn invites his children for a family weekend with the announcement that he has important news, the conclusion is quickly drawn for Roderick, Fleur and Benjamin. Finally, their father is going to divide the family fortune! Once arrived, a nasty surprise awaits. Instead of a big bag of money, the children are confronted with Bonnie, the beautiful, somewhat vulgar, and thirty years younger lover of Pieter. Their father is getting married. Then the children do battle with Bonnie, but the higher the battle heats up, the more the question arises what is more important in life: money or family?

Jennifer Hoffman is very nice, with her Rotterdam accent. The one from Baantjer, the policewoman who always stood at the counter, has exactly the same role in this film. That's sad, isn't it?

The LA Voices pass by, fortunately without Gordon, although it's bad enough without Gordon.

I actually thought it wasn't too bad, although it is of course a shame that we still haven't outgrown these types of vulgar comedies in the Netherlands. Wouldn't those actors prefer to star in good quality films like those made in the rest of Europe? I am a fan of Dutch films and that is why I watch almost everything, there is not that much released. I find this really regrettable.

But the jokes are certainly more successful than the average Dutch comedy. Michiel Romeyn as guru/cult leader is also quite witty. When he hits that gong very angrily and almost breaks his wrist haha... Or during a ritual he pushes Jelka van Houten away ice cold lol

Pieter [Derek de Lint] invites his four adult children for a family weekend and has a surprise in store for them: he has become engaged to the much younger Bonnie [Jennifer Hoffman], the stereotypical city girl with too much makeup, a (kind of van) Rotterdam accent and a 60s haircut. Eldest son Roderick [Dirk Zeelenberg] in particular does not trust the matter and the weekend gets out of hand when Bonnie's Tokkie family arrives. Corny to say the least, but I find the parade of caricatures downright offensive in this waste of talent. That talent is the only reason this doesn't get the lowest possible score.

Sometimes very mediocre because usually not funny, but with a reasonable pace (and nice and short) and sometimes a good joke. Sometimes even two in a row, for example when LA the Voices comes in to sing and a few seconds later a pigeon falls dead. It's just a shame that the three children are all very mediocre, including their roles in general. Then Bonnie's family is funnier and dad himself is also well played. 2.5*.
