Evergreen plot

Harriet Green, a beloved and shining star of the music hall of the Edwardian era, has a secret: she has a daughter, who was born out of wedlock. Harriet abandons her audience and flees to South Africa to raise the girl in silence. The years pass and her daughter, Harriet Hawkes, returns to London as a young talent for the show world, looking to the future with hope.
