Verrall is a devout old bachelor. As a result of an inheritance, he learns that he is assigned to raise a child. However, when the girl arrives, he is in for a surprise. It turns out to be a young woman. Her name is Eliza and she wears glasses with large lenses. She comes to live with him and soon the two are inseparable.
