The winegrower's daughter Klärchen and the Rhine sailor Jochen are actually a very happy couple, were it not for the fact that jealousy regularly causes some turbulence. Klärchen believes that Jochen has a mistress. That's why she flirts with the champagne representative Knuzius. And to get rid of him, she even claims that she is pregnant with him, basically a white lie, which causes more and more complications than is actually necessary...
