"Swept off his feet by a fortune"

Tax officer Arthur Prohack is adept at dealing with the fortunes of others. When he receives an inheritance from a deceased entrepreneur to whom he had lent money, he is suddenly rich. He buys a large mansion, a new car and hires a driver. His son convinces him to start the ambitious company Prohack Trust and to borrow additional money for this at a low interest rate. Arthur soon realizes that his ill-advised investments and the foolish excesses of his family have squandered a lot of money.
