Nobel laureate Harry Wolper is obsessed with the project to recreate his long-dead wife with cells preserved since her death 30 years ago. Because he can't do it alone, he hires the help of the student Boris. However, Wolper is distracted by the attention he gets from Meli and his attempts to match Boris with the attractive medical student Barbare.
