Jake is a janitor who, due to amnesia, thinks he is someone else. A mysterious femme fatale takes advantage of this by making him believe he is an undercover cop. The Entertainer cannot entertain us.
Why do actors/comedians always take names like this. If these kinds of names are already on the poster, I quickly give up. Cederic the entertainer, Larry the cable guy, brrr. The Rock is an exception to that, and has been using its own name more recently.
The film is just very bland and wants too much to be a fun comedy. In addition, you also have an actor who wants to be funny too much and really thinks he is. We've seen the brother and negro jokes hundreds of times in all the Eddy Murphy and Martin Lawrence movies and they don't work Mr. The Entertainer. The acting talent is also hard to find in Cederic. Also a pity about the dull story which we have seen very often, and also much better. What remains is a somewhat mediocre film, with a few nice jokes and small fun action moments.
A film that you can safely skip, because ej is not missing anything.

Wow, that this was ever released on DVD.
One of the worst comedies ever seen. That Cedric is really, really annoying. Not a speck of acting talent in sight.
Crazy that Lucy Liu let herself be used for this. If you read the script you can't help but refuse, can you?
Those 1.5 stars are earned because the story itself is not even that cringe-inducing, something that is usually hilariously bad in these kinds of films.
But there is really nothing more positive to report.
What I do know is that I will forever avoid movies in which Cedric the Entertainer plays.
