Samir Amin is a Nobel Prize-winning writer. He lives in Paris, far from his native Algeria. He systematically refuses all the invitations he receives, until one day he decides to agree to be made an "honorary citizen" of Sidi Mimoun, the town where he was born. But is it a good idea to see the inhabitants of this city, who year after year have become the characters of his various novels?
