Elizabeth Perkins really looks like Millie Bobby Brown. The more often she appears in this film, the stronger the similarities become. Almost scary. Anyway, nice movie! Had never seen this classic (because that's what it is I think) before. A big portion of feel good, romance, humor and Tom Hanks in one of his best roles as far as I'm concerned. Credibly directed by Penny Marshall, well done. That scene in the toy store is a good example of that. Actually too stupid for words on that floor piano, but it works perfectly in this movie and ends up being one of the nicest scenes. Josh was only there early too. Nice work.

After seeing 13 Going On 30 saw this one again. Yet films that have the same starting point: a child who is suddenly in an adult body. There are differences, however, especially how the main character deals with relationships. In contrast to 13 Going On 30, the main character does enter into a relationship with an adult. It feels a bit uncomfortable I must admit.

A bigger problem I have with this film is that the film is clearly quite outdated. It all looks faded and it doesn't come across very smoothly. Furthermore, the whole 80s styling (especially the hairstyles) does not suit me at all. Hanks also has a strong image with me as a good good guy, so I don't think he can bring much extra. 1*.

Big is a very enjoyable film on all fronts. Tom Hanks portrays the teenager in the body of a thirty-year-old very convincingly and funny.
