Between the Temples plot
The cantor Ben Gottlieb is in deep mourning after the death of his wife, after which he moves in with his mother. They are already trying to pair him with a potential new partner, but that fails. Ben himself bumps into his former music teacher Carla again. The seventy-year-old shares his sadness after she also lost her loved one. Carla helps Ben find himself again and through him she may finally realize her dream of celebrating her bat mitzvah.
