Barbe-Bleue plot

Count Amédée de Salfère has been widowed for the sixth time. He has already acquired the reputation of "Bluebeard". And yet he still wants to tie the knot a seventh time. This time with young Aline, daughter of an innkeeper. The beauty is already having an affair with Giglio. The wedding takes place with the usual pomp and ceremony, but on his wedding night the Count falls asleep and fails even to fulfill his conjugal duties. The girl absolutely wants to know what secret he is hiding behind the closed door of a mysterious room, but when she finds out it is something that is not at all in line with the gossip being told about him.
