A very successful comedy; you can expect a cross between Borat and Forest Gump. Nicolas Cage proved that any good actor can handle a comedic role, and the film is a compilation of funny, occasionally hilarious moments. The God certainly has a very peculiar vision; it reminded me of the Monty Python films. It's been a long time since I laughed so much during a movie. The humor is much less forced than in, say, the Jump Street films. And apparently, the character actually exists too. Probably the best comedy of the year. 4 stars

Very funny movie.

The premise is completely idiotic: a wacky American who wants to travel to Pakistan on his own to bring in Osama bin Laden. He isn't very skilled at it, because even getting into Pakistan turns out not to be that easy. Material for a silly comedy, but the craziest thing is that it is based on a true story.

Cage is, of course, perfect for this role. He gets to go completely over the top the entire time, something he really excels at. The rest of the cast is actually really good too, but ultimately this turned out to be Cage's party; he clearly enjoyed it a lot.

But Charles also manages to strike the right tone. He ensures that, alongside Cage, the humor is genuinely funny, that the visuals look fresh, and that the entire film simply feels quite unique. The direction could perhaps have been just a tiny bit tighter, but otherwise, there is little to complain about with this film. It is something different for a change, and I always appreciate that.

3.5*

Army of One is a delightful, zany comedy based on the true story of Gary Faulkner's mission. Nicolas Cage does a great job. Films like this prove to be a good platform for a versatile actor like him.
