The hero of this story is the fat, smart teenager Angus (Talbert), who is bullied at school by slim but thoroughly annoyingly popular boys. The low point in his life is when the bad boys play a practical joke on him in which he is made fun of in front of the girl of his dreams. Angus's grandfather then provides him with all kinds of interesting life wisdom ('Screw 'em all').
