Accent on Youth plot

"Linda told him to stop acting his age...a man is only as old as the girl who is in love with him!"

Steven Gaye, a playwright, falls in love with his secretary Linda. She returns his love, but he thinks the age difference is very big. Steven indicates that she is better off with Dick Reynolds, the lead actor in his play. Indeed, a relationship develops between Linda and Dick. Dick is young and romantic, but, as Linda finds, also rather stupid. The longer she stays with Dick, the more she longs for Steven's older wisdom and charm.
