Karin Hoehne is a retired teacher from Berlin. On her way to her friend Rosa Brathuhn, she unwittingly witnesses a gruesome murder. A young woman is beheaded by a man with an axe. When she goes to report it to the police, they don't believe it and think she is a senile old woman, especially since no body is found. She then goes on an investigation herself to solve the case.
