The film tells the true story of ex-prostitute Virginia Hill (Dyan Cannon) in flashbacks. In the 1940s she got into a relationship with mobster Bugsy Siegel (Harvey Keitel) and became involved in all kinds of affairs that helped her partner earn a living.
