Maria plot
Maria Callas once belonged to the world's top opera singers. Today she lives in seclusion in Paris with her staff and poodles. As her health deteriorates, she is asked to perform again. The question is whether she can reach her level again and who is waiting for it.

Good film about the last two weeks of the life of opera singer Maria Callas. Not the first biopic by director Pablo Larraín. But a bit more standard compared to his previous biopics by using flashbacks. The film looks beautiful with nice camerawork. Angelina Jolie plays a good role and also knows how to convince during the singing scenes (did somebody say Oscar?).

This film shows an eccentric Maria Callas who, protected by her housekeeper and footman, enters the last days of her life, where the medication clearly helps her through.
Masterful performances from these 3 characters make this perfectly placed and presented within the time frame of 1970s Paris.
It is clear to everyone that "La Callas" will no longer perform and gradually this realization dawns on her as well.
Although Maria Callas has been completely forgotten by the mainstream population, this film still gives a beautiful picture of her greatness of yesteryear, combined with her decline in later life.
Beautiful, modest film, definitely worth watching and a tribute to this remarkable lady.
