Rio plot
"1 out of every 8 Americans is afraid of flying. Most of them don't have feathers."
Blu is a rare Macaw parrot that was captured in the jungles of Rio. He ended up in Minnesota thanks to smugglers, where he was found and has been cared for by Linda for fifteen years now. The two are inseparable. One day a professor visits Linda to ask if she and Blu are going to Rio to save his race; Blu is the last male of his kind. In Rio, things don't exactly go as planned and Blu finds himself on an adventure along with his ilk Jewel and other new friends.

Well, we've seen the story in animations before, but the makers still manage to give it their own twist here and there. They know how to make good use of the setting and they go over-the-top during the carnival parade.
Strangely enough, I thought while watching the film that Blu was voiced by the actor Topher Grace, who is mainly known from That '70s Show, but it turned out to have been Jesse Eisenberg. He does it well and gives the character a striking voice. I read in the posts above that some had some trouble with some of the votes. I have to say that I was not really bothered by any voice. Well, Anne Hathaway may be doing it in an uncharacteristic way, but I don't think she's bad.
For me the music is a small point of criticism, because a number of the songs I personally did not quite fit with the style of the film. Everyone will have their own opinion about this too, but this is how I think about it.
Nowhere does the film rise above the average quality of today's animation film, but it is entertaining. Good enough for 3 snaps.

The birds are very nicely drawn and have funny characters but with the human characters, as so often in animations, I had some trouble. Ugly drawn and not very sympathetic.
