Lamya's Poem plot
Twelve-year-old Syrian girl Lamya is fleeing violence in her country because of the war. She comes across a collection of poems by the celebrated Jalal ad-Din Rumi from the thirteenth century. As the perils of her journey increase, the book becomes a magical gateway where Lamya meets the poet when he was a boy and also fled the violence of his time. In a shared dream world, they battle monsters that follow them from their real world situation. Lamya must help young Rumi find his calling and write the poem that will save her life 800 years later.
