Iqbal, a Tale of a Fearless Child plot
Iqbal is a nice, smart 10-year-old boy who lives in Kardù. He wants to go to the market in Mapur to sell his goat in order to pay for medicine for Aziz, who has pneumonia. A swindler, who promises to pay for the medicines if Iqbal pays back the money with labour, brings Iqbal to work as a child laborer in a carpet weaving mill. There he gradually comes to the conclusion that he will never pay off his debt and that he has actually become a slave.
