Remake of the 1945 film of the same name. The ambitious and egocentric Barbara seduces Sir Ralph Skelton, the betrothed of her best friend Caroline. Barbara and Ralph get married, but Barbara is soon tired of her new luxurious life. In the evenings to dispel boredom, Barbara dresses up as a highwayman and robs her husband's rich friends and acquaintances. During one of her robberies, she encounters a real highwayman, Jerry Jackson. The two have an affair and continue as a team.
