Mediocre horror pulp. The camera work is downright disgusting, the acting sub-par and the dubs laughable. Yet there is an atmosphere in the film, strangely enough. Now this is one of those that is so wrong that it makes you laugh. Still a bit of entertainment.

The Mad Doctor of Blood Island turned out better than you would first suspect. This certainly has to do with the beautiful presentation of the DVD, which emphasizes the beautiful location of the island even more in terms of colors and images. But the gore also looks pretty okay and the green monster (even though it doesn't really look that great) is clearly presented. Also some nudity of the lovely Angelique Pettyjohn and Alicia Alonzo. The story is carefully built up to the climax where the three main characters who come to Blood Island have their own reasons for going there. The ending is okay and has a nice final scene. 6/10
