"King of Romantic Epics!"
In 1500, Duke Cesare Borgia hopes that his sister (widowed by poisoning) will marry Ferrara's heir, meaning Borgia would control central Italy. He sends the equally cunning Andrea Orsini to complete this mission, but the latter becomes enamored with Camilla Verano, the wife of a count who is also on Borgia's wish list. Orsini threatens to turn against his master.
