Frenchman's Creek plot

Lady Dona is trapped in an unhappy marriage to Harry St. Columb, while the latter's sinister friend Lord Rockingham is ostentatious after her. Then a ship docks near their home, that of the French pirate Jean Benoit Aubrey. When Lady St. Columb meets him, she is immediately more than charmed by him. Aubrey unleashes a battle against a local, powerful landowner and when both Mr. St. Columb as Lord Rockingham attempt to persecute Aubrey, Lady St. Columb must make a choice.
