Bruce Campbell goes to Canada to inherit his grandfather's heritage: a valley in the Rocky Mountains. It is said that oil can be found. With the help of a saloon girl Jean Lucas, the mining expert Bladen and the Scottish oil driller MacDonald, Bruce sets out to find oil as quickly as possible. After all, the contractor Owen Morgan wants to build a dam in the valley for a hydroelectric power station. Bruce wants to get ahead of his opponents, especially when he learns he has only six months to live.
