To Protect and Serve plot

Los Angeles. Several policemen were killed in a violent manner. Detectives Philip Egan and Harriet McCallister are assigned to investigate and solve the case. Philip and Harriet are ex-lovers and are therefore not happy with this joint assignment. When Harriet is alone in Philips' flat one day, she discovers the files of the deceased colleagues. It turns out that they all have one thing in common: they were all once suspected of the murder of police officer Egan, Philip's father.
