Surviving the Game plot
"The Rules are Simple: Kill or Be Killed."
Mason, a black drifter, wants to end his life when two of his best friends die. A social worker manages to prevent this just in time and offers him a well-paid job. Mason accepts the offer to guide a group of businessmen who want to hunt something special in the Rocky Mountains. He soon discovers that he is the prey. However, the hunters have not taken his intelligence into account.

A fairly entertaining film and again a slightly different variant in the genre.
The cast is okay, although protagonist Ice T is not always that good. Rutger Hauer and Garey Busey are doing quite well, especially Hauer puts down a nice mean character. The course is very predictable, but the setting and the beautiful pictures of nature there make up for a lot. The end; "always check the barrel, before shooting", is a nice made up.
Not very top, but overall still doable. I think a comparable film like Hard Target is a lot better.

Reasonable.
The cast is quite nice, but a lot of familiar faces who also do a pretty good job. In my opinion, the roles of Ice-T and Rutger Hauer in particular stood out. It's a shame that this movie starts so slowly and the build-up to action scenes takes quite a while. Fortunately, the action is doable, even if it is not really special. A film that contains little action in the first part, but the second half provides much-needed entertainment.

Weak action thriller that falls seriously short on both counts. A hunt in the wilderness, that must be some thrills and such, but Dickerson is nothing. Not a single scene that is worth it in that respect, the stuff just bumps after each other and runs into each other again. Remarkable for such a large playing field. In terms of action, it does it with very clunky fights and some weapons clatter. Apart from an explosion there is not much to get there. Ice-T looks lost. Not literally, by the way. Also remarkable. Annoying role too, with all that drama and that big waffle. It's the rest of the cast that makes it somewhat worthwhile. A couple of nice heads that fit well here. With Hauer as ringleader and luminary. He was clearly having a good time. He does.
