I largely agree with my upstairs neighbor, but Del Toro's extremely laconic performance - which I appreciated so well the first time - still manages to raise my average to a 3*. The biggest problem (and surprise) is that even a rock-hard crime film like this has fallen victim to 'Hollywood franchising.' This gives you a plot that is mainly intended to set up a sequel and you are left with a story that actually has no third act. Too bad, but nice viewing in between all the superhero violence.

Yes...we do miss Emily Blunt here, but this print does have Isabela Moner.
Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro are also present, with especially Del Toro creating a strong character. The story captivated me from start to finish, even making me feel like it was going to surpass its predecessor. But the scene from the well made for a more critical view. The logic was then a bit far to seek given the fact that Del Toro got to his opponents so quickly. The finale was also missing, it was all a bit rattled and left an opening for a third part. A bit of a shame because the whole plan of the kidnapping eventually falls to pieces and leads to nothing.
7/10

Great second part, unfortunately without Blunt. Same tension, same action, so the whole was not inferior to the first part. Also here the heavy music added when things got tense. I found the story a bit thinner compared to the first film. In fact it doesn't matter, at least I expected a bit more from the war they wanted to cause. In any case, the end of this film opens the way to part three, perhaps again with Blunt...
