"She has the code. He is the key."
The young Chinese girl Mei (Catherine Chan) has a special gift; she has an unbelievably good memory. When a vital code is stored in her memory, the Russian and Chinese mafia go after her. They have only one purpose: the girl's special code to open a safe. When she manages to escape the tough criminals, she comes into contact with Luke Wright (Jason Statham), an ex-cop who from then on does everything to protect Mei.

Nice Statham this. You just have to forget his whole person in the film, then some background is given (which is already clear after 5 minutes, but they just keep going) but that is all a bit unnecessary. Plot doesn't make any sense either and often jumps from one thing to the next, but who cares. It's all about the action and it's often really excellent. Nice and hard and sometimes therefore humorous, quite varied in intensity and type of action and when it pops, it pops well. Statham is perfectly cast and many other actors do their thing just fine. Sometimes I really got a GTA idea where whole gangs are shot with a man on every corner. Totally unbelievable, but this movie can take it and sometimes I need it. 3.5*.

Safe is a movie within the genre with a decent enough story. Not much special but quite entertaining. Not top notch but some entertainment. Statham is still a wonderful actor. Without him it was less that certain.
