Ryûkyû Battle Royale plot

Ken, a talented young hip-hop dancer, moves to Okinawa in hopes of earning some money from street performances. But in his first minutes on the island, his ghetto blaster is destroyed by a local gang and he takes some serious blows himself. An old man named Iwao Shinjo takes him under his wing and teaches him the traditional dance techniques of the island. What Ken doesn't know yet is that the dance has great similarities with Ryukyu karate.
