Remember plot

"This revenge must be completed."

Pil-ju, a retired soldier in his 80s with dementia, sets out to find the people he believes were responsible for his family's past deaths. With five names tattooed on his fingers, and bits of his collapsing memories, Pil-ju tracks down his targets and kills them one by one. The young, innocent In-gyu unwittingly becomes involved in Pil-ju's revenge, eventually becoming the prime suspect in a murder committed by Pil-ju. To prove his innocence and put a stop to this old man, In-gyu cannot help but guide Pil-ju's revenge journey. Before his memory is completely gone, can Pil-ju get his lifelong revenge?

I thought this movie was pretty good, but I thought it could have been a bit shorter, but it was still worth watching...

Who wrote this screenplay? What nonsense. A 53-year-old actor has to play an 80+ person who suffers from Alzheimer's. Okay, he didn't get away with that. Then take an actor approaching this age. Harrison Ford is also still acting. That can't be that difficult. But our patient has a mission: he wants to take revenge on 4 Koreans who killed his father, sister and brother during World War II when Japan still occupied Korea. That occupation lasted from 1910 to 1945. The murders took place in 1942, so our hero must be well into his 80s now. Okay, that's possible, but the perpetrators he wants to execute were at least 20 years old in 1942 and therefore all 100+ at the time of the revenge action. Because the story takes place in 2022. Rarely have I seen such young-looking energetic 100+ people. And then our hero gives chase, not with an inconspicuous Korean 13 in a dozen car, but a bright red Porsche 911. So that you at least stand out in traffic. The ending is an anti-climax because in an average USA movie the SWAT team has already riddled the man. Not here. My opinion on this monster? Zero point zero. Well, one star because I thought the Porsche was cool

A remake of Remember (2015), but apart from the premise there are not many similarities due to the move to Korea. The monkey wrench at the end is a bit less appealing than in the original - perhaps because I already knew which way it was going from there.

In terms of design and cinematography, very nicely done, and the actors are also excellent. Still, I found it a bit flat in the end. Perhaps Grandpa could have used a little more sinisterness.
