In 1840, the Louisiana slave driver Maxwell wants an heir to the empire he has built. He arranges a marriage between his son and the daughter of the neighboring plantation owner. When during the wedding night it turns out that the woman is no longer a virgin, a cat and mouse game begins, in which the husbands try to make fun of each other by taking black lovers.
