A bit of Shane with a touch of Rambo, but a lot more boring.
I rewatched it again and in my memories it was a lot more violent. Maybe that was because of the video cover where a thickly mustached and bloodied Reynolds blew everything away with a Shotgun.
2* and left because of the amusingly stoic Reynolds (a role he could play in his sleep), nice car and a nice action scene here and there.

Disappointing film about a man with car problems who ends up in a town. A poor story and the film is simply on the boring side. A few moments are still nice, and they are mainly thanks to Burt Reynolds who has a certain charm. The surroundings also provide some beautiful pictures. Just under 2.5 stars.

Our patriotic far-right friends try to take over a small American village, but are just unlucky that Burt Reynolds gets stranded there with car trouble. Great action, but not enough. The first hour moves way too slowly with Burt, the garage owner, and his daughter. It's a bit like Shane or a bit like an episode of The Incredible Hulk, where you just sit there waiting for the Hulk to finally show up again. Too little plot in the somewhat dull first hour, but fortunately, we do wrap up with a fine finale.
