After humanity faces a deadly pandemic and his wife is murdered, former soldier John Wood ventures into the wilderness. Years later, John lives as a hermit and a wounded woman stands at his door. The woman's name is Maria Johnson and she has escaped from a lab. She is being hunted by people who think her blood is the key to a cure. John doesn't want to get involved until he discovers that one of Maria's assailants is his wife's murderer.
