Kopps plot

In the Swedish village of Hogbodorna, the main activities of the local police are eating and drinking coffee. The cause of this: a complete lack of crime. While the officers themselves are very satisfied with their quiet life, the authorities see a good reason to close the police station. In an effort to save their jobs, Hogbodorna's agents decide to raise the crime statistics with their own hands.

A very nice and refreshing film from Sweden, which is particularly hilarious in the first half. In the second half the level drops slowly but surely, but nevertheless there is still plenty to enjoy.

The bumbling police force, where each cop has his own silly things, where the characters complement each other in a fun way, provides a lot of entertainment. That opening scene, where Fares Fares is dating in a bumbling way, immediately sets the tone. Torkel Petersson, who plays a cop who has rather imaginative thoughts, is just as funny. I had to smile quite a few times at the strange situations that people end up in through their own hands.

The setting, in the Swedish countryside, is not wrong either. Only pity is that the sharpness and the how dryly comical level is not held to the end. That does not alter the fact that Kopps is nevertheless refreshing and Josef Fares is a director who knows well how to convey humor to the viewer. I'm also curious about Jalla now! yalla!.

3.5*

A lot of dry humor throughout the silly stuff results in a funny, watchable, relaxing film in its entirety.

It was predictable that it would eventually turn out to be a feel-good ending, but that didn't matter, nor did the caricatural characters of the police force. Well played by the way. They could be quite serious while spouting outright nonsense.

First part in terms of humor the best, towards the end a bit forced.

I already thought I'd seen him. Still, he hadn't really remembered well. That in itself is a nice feature for a movie. A police force is disbanded because they have too little to do, after which they decide to increase the statistics themselves. But apparently I liked it a lot more last time than this time.
