"Get ready for the race of your life."
Indycar champion Beau Brandenburg will face a formidable opponent for the new world title with Jimmy Bly. Joe Tanto, a runner whose career was cut short by a serious accident, is tasked with getting Jimmy ready for battle. A battle that is continued next to the track, because Beau and Jimmy also compete for the favors of the lavish Sophia.

Despite the low ratings, I still ventured into Driven. I can cite two reasons for this. Firstly, because the car/racing films are not exactly up for grabs. Second, and more importantly, because I am annoyed by anyone who calls this an F1 movie. It's about IndyCars and they're as far away from Formula 1 cars as baseball is from football.
It makes little difference to the film. Every possibility to make something of it is expertly turned down. First of all, the actors and script are lousy. The story can be told in three lines and one supporting role is even worse than the other. The acting is even so mediocre that Razziekoning Sylvester Stallone actually shoots out positively.
But worst of all are the races. It's clear that Stallone knows nothing about motorsport because one scene is more laughable than the next. The dime search with racing tires was already ridiculous, but the low point is probably when Jimmy Bly turns his car to help an opponent. Quite logical: driving into traffic at 400 km/h…. The special effects were already unbearable before 2001 and nowadays many racing games even look much better. Bright spots are the nice pace and the appetizing ladies.

A subject (racing) that is worked out over the top with such bad acting that it was actually quite funny all in all. So I was somewhat entertained with this film and that was anything but the quality.
