Moo Myeong is a bounty hunter who puts his life completely at the service of his Empress Myeonseong. Consort of Emperor Gojong, she is seen in Korean history as a national heroine, who was actively involved in politics and diplomacy to modernize Korea and endure Japanese imperialism. The bounty hunter Moo Myeong lives from day to day, rounding up refugees, but his life changes forever when he falls in love with the stunningly beautiful Ja Yeong. However, she is the intended next queen of Joseon and so she moves into the palace a few years later, where the maddened Moo Myeong follows her. He joins the royal guard to protect her. He remains loyal to her as she directs court politics and later takes the throne as the next 'Empress of the Joseon Dynasty'
