Splendid!

I hadn't seen this excellent action movie before and I absolutely loved it.

A brilliant film with spectacular fights.

Visually very attractive, entertaining and a nice story.

Finally a good kung fu movie that never bored me.

Thick 4*

The story isn't that much...

But the smooth course and the tight fight scenes make up for a lot.

Hehe, I just now realize that Yuen is the man from the Drunken Master films. I was wondering where that twist suddenly came from.

Anyway, after having seen many annoying Asian movies, this is a relief. No kitsch, but beautiful sets without exaggerating. The characters are well cared for and the action is delightful. The story flows well and it really feels like a journey that this time makes it a bit more difficult to predict where you will all be taken. In that respect True Legend is nicely varied and attention has been paid to everything. Really bizarre that this film is in the euro bins again and again, because that is a fate that it does not deserve. This is one of the better martial arts/semi-fantasy films of recent years and certainly one of the best when it comes to a good distribution and variety of action, romance and 'coming of age'.
