They just put the wrong person in the lead. Well, lead role… I had no idea who the film was actually about. Shô Kosugi shows up every now and then, but that's about it. I actually have no idea whether it is a good martial artist. Either it's just so-so, or he held himself against Van Damme. Jean-Claude who hardly has to recite lyrics. Black Eagle is somehow an entertaining vehicle with an unsurprising story and mediocre acting. A cold war film from a time when the Soviet Union was already on the brink of collapse. The film is therefore only fun if you are curious about a very young Van Damme, but the muscles from Brussels has a lot of better films to its name.

Decent setback. First of all, because Van Damme only plays a supporting role as the badguy's sidekick, but the protagonist has absolutely no appearance to play a role like this. I was therefore very surprised that this actor has played several times as a ninja in films. The story itself of this Black Eagle was mediocre and so are the action scenes that can hardly entertain.

This typical 80s movie but once looked through and it was all a bit crap. Unfortunately it didn't get exciting anywhere and is therefore quite boring. you look forward to fight scenes with van Damme all the time that are very disappointing. it also looks very flimsy. I don't want to say more
