Mark Ruffalo might have just revealed a spoiler about Captain America: Brave New World.
Starting with The Avengers back in 2012, Ruffalo stepped into the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thereafter, he appeared in numerous films as the character and played a major part in the Infinity Saga.
While other stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have retired from their roles as Iron Man and Captain America respectively, the door has always been open for Ruffalo to return as Bruce.
And, it seems like it might happen in Captain America: Brave New World.
When asked by Q&A moderator Anne Thompson at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival if he would appear in the MCU feature, Ruffalo nodded his head and said, “Yeah.”
“Are you allowed to talk about that?” Thompson asked.
“Yeah,” Ruffalo said. “It’s going to be great!”
Now, it should be noted that representatives from Marvel have said that Ruffalo actually won't be appearing and that he was confused by the line of questioning. The "yeah" was simply an acknowledgement of the movie rather than a confirmation that he would appear.
However, it would make sense for Hulk to appear in Brave New World, as there is speculation that Harrison Ford's General Thaddeus E. 'Thunderbolt' may turn into the villainous Red Hulk.
Ruffalo has received heat from Marvel before for accidentally revealing spoilers, such as the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War.
A new Captain America
Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, was a hugely popular Cap, so Anthony Mackie has his work cut out for Brave New World, but the actor has explained how Sam Wilson is a different animal to Steve.
"With my Cap, he's not a superhero," he told Yahoo.
"He doesn't have a super serum, so his superpower is his humanity. I think with him, he has to come to the stage with a very different understanding of what it is to be a good guy, or be a bad guy, and what are the decisions that make you toe that line in the way that you do?
"I just see him as more of a humane Cap, as opposed to a Cap of judgement, where 'this is right, and this is wrong.' There are decisions that make you choose right or wrong,"
Captain America: New World Order will be released in February of 2025.
