Alex Wolff has joined Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong'o in the cast for the upcoming A Quiet Place spin-off, A Quiet Place: Day One.
The first movie in the franchise was released in 2018 and was a critical and commercial success, earning $341 million from a budget of $17m.
A sequel, A Quiet Place Part II was released in 2021 and earned $297m.
There are plans to continue the franchise not just with a third movie in the original trilogy, but a spin-off that will focus on the first day that the creatures from the first two movies landed or appeared on Earth.
Franchise creator John Krasinski will produce the spin-off, with Jeff Nichols writing and directing and Nyong'o starring alongside Quinn.
Will there be A Quiet Place Part III?
Emily Blunt, who starred in the first two movies, revealed that the second was intended to be part of a trilogy.
“He has a whole arc of ideas that could work," she said.
"I think he just wanted to see how people responded to this one (Part II) before he fully engaged his brain on the third one. But he has a couple of great ideas."
Speaking to Extra, she continued: “Jeff Nichols this amazing director has come in to work on the next ‘Quiet Place’ instalment. John has written something else that he is going to go and do.”
