Jonathan Majors reveals key Kang the Conqueror superpower that elevates him as a villain

Jonathan Majors says one of Kang the Conqueror's major superpowers is his intelligence, which elevates him above the standard Marvel villain.

The character will be the primary antagonist in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which stars Paul Rudd as Scott Laing and Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer as Hope van Dyne, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne respectively. Kathryn Newton has taken over the role of Cassie Laing.

Kang is set to be a major big bad within the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indeed, one of the upcoming Avengers movies will be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

While Ant-Man is known for his comical quips on-screen, Kang will not be a villain who "suffers fools".

"I mean, he’s hyper-intelligent – it’s one of the superpowers," Majors told Total Film.

"His brain function is just greater than even the smart guys. He’s on that level. And the gravitas is a necessity. It’s Kang against the world, isn’t it? At least that’s his point of view. There’s no frivolity.

"Kang himself is very economical. He understands energy, he understands time, he understands what is needed to survive. He doesn’t suffer fools. Which is interesting because not to say anything pejorative about Ant-Man, but Ant-Man is a jokester. He’s a funny guy. And now you’ve got Scott Lang going up against Kang the Conqueror, who does not joke. He does have a sense of humor. And you’ll discover that. But he does not joke."

Back in October of 2022, a leak of the trailer made its way online and the major takeaway from that was Ant-Man looking bloodied and battered after an encounter with Kang.

The new, full trailer provides a bigger insight into Kang and his potential motives.

In it, he is seen to be making a deal with Ant-Man. Scott wishes to get time with his daughter back after missing so much of her life due to the blip, while Kang's wish as part of the deal remains unknown for now.

Kang, clearly, presents the biggest threat to the Avengers since Thanos.
