De hoofdrol in deze releases is weggelegd voor Jack Nicholson.
Heb inmiddels op dvd Five Easy Pieces gezien, via alternatieve kanalen.

The Criterion Collection has announced a record seven titles for Blu-ray release in May. On May 3, it will release Fat Girl (À ma soeur; Catherine Breillat, 2001) and Smiles of a Summer Night (Sommarnattens leende; Ingmar Bergman, 1955). A week later, it will release Something Wild (Jonathan Demme, 1986). On May 17, the studio will put out Diabolique (Les diaboliques; Henri-Georges Clouzot, 1954) and Pale Flower (Kawaita Hana; Masahiro Shinoda, 1964). And last but not least, May 24 will see BD releases for The Great Dictator (Charles Chaplin, 1940) and Solaris (Andrei Tarkovsky, 1972).
The transfer of Fat Girl has been director approved. Something Wild is approved by director of photography Tak Fujimoto.

La Règle du Jeu
Ben nu blij dat ik gewacht heb met die te zien. Al ziet de transfer van de Franse blu-ray er niet al te best uit. De dvd van La Règle du Jeu was echter ook al minder scherp dan die van La Grande Illusion.

Er moet blijkbaar geld binnenkomen. Criterion gata qua titels nogal lijken op de Quality Film Collection. Alleen niet 3 voor 25€. Alleen de Eclipse boxen zijn nog merendeel de moeite.

De aankondigingen voor juni:





Ten slotte wordt ook The Samurai Trilogy op BD uitgebracht. Voor Criterion hun doen waren de DVD's toendertijd van zeer matige transfers. En dan heb ik het nog zachtjes uitgedrukt.

Zit niets interesants tussen. De hoezen zijn wel erg mooi, maar ik ga geen van deze titels kopen!

Er zitten erbij die beter zijn dan veel uit de reeks. Als ze pakweg ooit Black Swan releasen zou ik niet verder kijken, gewoon meteen deze nemen. Een van de mooiste van het hele stel.
Ik zou dit ook wel willen kunnen eigenlijk.

Zitten een paar lelijke posters tussen maar het overgrote deel is werkelijk prachtig. Ik hoop dat Criterion dit aantal ook ontdekt en misschien een paar posters gebruiken voor toekomstige releases
