A fun thriller that borrows heavily from the series The Fugitive.
Kirk Douglas remains an incredibly cool actor (in these kinds of films), even though it is in a film made well over 30 years after the film noir wave.
John Schneider (Dukes of Hazard) also does a pretty good job as the innocent Eddie, who has to stay out of Kirk's hands.

It is always nice to see Kirk Douglas in his element. His acting certainly saves the film from mediocrity. As Stephan says, this is a "Fugitive"-esque film with few dull moments. Douglas plays Marzack, the prison officer tasked with getting escaped prisoner Eddie Macon back into jail. And Eddie, the romantic, sets off on foot towards the Mexican border where his wife and child are waiting for him. The situations do not always demonstrate much logic. For instance, Marzack is waiting for Macon from atop a hill. When he sees a car drive away, he immediately assumes it is him . Sometimes a bit clumsily executed and not always believable. Also note the opening roles of JT Walsh and John Goodman.

A decent film about a prisoner who manages to escape and is pursued by a detective who has a score to settle with him. Not exactly an original story, but enough happens to make the film easy to watch. Also features a cast with quite a few well-known names, with this being John Goodman's debut. A solid 3.0 stars.
