The House in the Woods plot

Geoffrey Carter, a very tense author has no inspiration. He is petulant, urging his wife to flee their annoying neighbors and find a quieter place. They find a lovely secluded cottage in the woods where the owner, a melancholy widower and artist, is happy to rent it out at a bargain price. Soon they realize something isn't quite right with their landlord and to his horror, Geoffrey realizes that the plot of his new murder mystery is set in reality...
