"All heroes start somewhere."
The galaxy is inexorably on the hunt for the brash adventurer Peter Quill, who has stolen a mysterious orb. Ronan, a powerful villain with plans that threaten to endanger the entire universe, has his sights set on the orb. Gave it another chance and now it's done. I was in a better mood and found it less annoying than on my first attempt, but it never really wants to be fun. Because of all the shitty stuff, which is usually more bland than really funny, the plot can never really get interesting and the characters are way too flat to care. Even Starlord's backstory is really skinny. To add some luster, 70's hits are taken from the stable. The movie looks good and especially Gamora and Nebula are dazzling but the enemies have zero charisma. With enough colorful action, although lavish and with an excess of CGI, it all just manages to go through.
Final verdict: OK.

What can I add after 16 pages of opinion?
After a heartbreaking opening scene, it thunders through an alien abduction from one superfluous action scene to the next exorbitant action scene.
The intervening lee is then filled with fairly funny dialogues between a talking tree and ditto raccoon, a disabled Hulk, a green girl from Mars and a wannabe hero with that typical Marvel humor, and a budding romance that doesn't convince.
I'm done with all the CGI action bombing now, this movie is going all the way again with all the explosions and fantasy worlds that have to camouflage the lack of content with a lot of noise, it all looks great but it's like too much sauce over your fries, it finally overshoots its target because it turns into a big soggy lukewarm mush.
The closing scene is very nice and also quite subtle. Too bad everything between that first and last scene is real strip pulp, of the very mediocre kind.
It is striking that the dialogues are difficult to understand, I watched the film without subtitles, but that is almost impossible to do.
