"A tragedy of jealousy and desires."
During the Japanese occupation of Joseon (Korea), So-yool and Yeon-hee both followed a singing course as gisaeng (female entertainer). They dream of becoming famous as singers of traditional Korean music and become close friends. But things come to a head when So-yool's boyfriend falls in love with her friend and begins to promote Yeon-hee's singing career. Driven by jealousy and an inferiority complex, So-yool makes a drastic decision with dramatic consequences.
